Musings on Energy & Epistemology (How We Gain Knowledge) Part 1

We continue our analysis of the demonic energy-centric worldview that has the world in a choke-hold. Our focus is epistemology, which is that branch of philosophy that deals with the nature, limits, and validity of knowledge—it is THE presupposition of presuppositions. How we know what we know is as basic as it gets! WHAT IS GOD LIKE?’; WHAT HAPPENS AFTER DEATH?; HOW DO WE DETERMINE WHAT IS RIGHT AND WRONG?; WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE?; WHERE IS HISTORY GOING?...Where do we turn to get accurate knowledge regarding these crucial questions?...where do we find the right answers? Where and how can we gain accurate knowledge for such questions is what epistemology is all about—so you can see it is far from being dry-as-dust academic theory. Ladies and gentlemen…this is where it’s at! (those questions are also basic to one’s worldview).

I have studied epistemology for decades, but we can accurately say that our epistemic foundation is either speculation or revelation—those are the only two options (besides nihilism). The answers to the very basic and profound questions above can be sought either in the vain speculations of man, or we can seek them from God’s inerrant revelation to us in the holy bible. Below are examples of both speculation and revelation regarding how we gain knowledge; the first quote is from a friend who is a non-Christian investigator-- it deals specifically with memory-knowledge, the second is from God’s revelation to us from the book of Numbers. Please read both and then I will comment.

                             SPECULATION                    

                                                                         Vertical Memory

                           

 Beyond the three types of memory -- mechanical, logical and moral ...,  there is still the  kind of memory that we have designated as "vertical or revelatory memory". It is not a memory of the past in the sense of the horizontal line: today, yesterday, the day before, etc., but rather in the sense of the vertical line: here, higher, still higher, etc. It is a "memory" which does not link the present to the past on the plane of the physical, psychic and intellectual life, but which links the plane of ordinary consciousness to planes or states of consciousness higher than ordinary consciousness. It is the faculty of the "lower self" to reproduce the experience and knowledge of the "higher self" or, if you like, the faculty of the "higher self" to imprint its experience and knowledge upon the consciousness of the "lower self". It is the link between the 'higher eye" and the "lower eye", which renders us authentically religious and wise, and immune to the assaults of skepticism, materialism and determinism. It is this which also is the source of certainty of God and the spiritual world with its hierarchical entities, and the immortality of being…and of reincarnation. (emp. added…source not given)

REVELATION

Chapter 14 of Numbers

37 The LORD said to Moses, 38 "Speak to the people of Israel, and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. 39 And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. 40 So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. 41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God."

I realize the first quote is rather heavy (may want to read it again), but the thrust of the passage is direct. It is ironic that, in this highly speculative epistemology, that the author states that it is revelatory! Methinks not... They state that certain knowledge is gained by accessing our higher consciousness and bringing it into our ordinary consciousness or memories. This has become very popular, so it is incumbent upon us to understand the quest for higher consciousness. What is not stated is that this higher knowledge is usually gained by content-less meditation (you know…ooommm), and that this brings us into contact with higher/rapid energy vibrations…thus, the energy connection (sometimes you have to read between the vibrating lines…sorry about that!).

This higher state of consciousness is said to be “revelatory”. Having formally studied theology in seminary, I know that this word (revelatory) is often used as a synonym for revelation—God speaks or reveals Himself in the bible…or the bible is revelatory. And just who might be revealing themselves in this higher state of consciousness? If we are allegedly tapping into energy, then it cannot communicate because it is not personal. The author is claiming virtual inerrant status for this faculty, so we need to know who or what is revealing this certain knowledge of God, spirit beings, immortality, and reincarnation, and so on. During our consciousness ascension—VERTICAL memory and not horizontal memory of the past-- who do we encounter since we are on an INNER trip? I’m not denying that our consciousness can be altered to a degree, but there is no evidence to suggest that these states will yield inerrant knowledge of God and the cosmos. An acid trip may yield interesting insights to some aspect of reality, but purple-haze lyrics can hardly be called revelatory. There needs to be a personal Being outside of us for that to happen.

Notice that it is by looking within ourselves, on a higher plane of consciousness, that we gain certitude regarding the nature of God, spirit beings (uh oh), immortality, and reincarnation. This hearkens back to our comments regarding what epistemology is all about…finding true knowledge of answers to life’s most basic questions. The author makes an explicit epistemological claim—how to gain certain knowledge of these profound questions. Despite the author’s claim, their whole epistemic system is nothing but speculation wrapped up in neo-gnostic or New Age garb. Again, the alleged higher consciousness knowledge that is gained comes from within us. That, my friends, is the essence of a speculative epistemology; it is subjective, autonomous reasoning (thinking not under the Lordship of Christ)… or speculation for short. And speculation is precisely that…speculating or guessing…which is hardly revelatory.

Don’t pick on MY Pal, the Fake Exorcist

When I was a child, the old folks would say that the reason nothing ever changed in Washington DC is that while everyone wanted to throw out the bum representatives and senators out of office, but no one ever want to throw out THEIR bum representatives and senators.

Recently, I got a response from a well-known critic of highjinks by demonologists and other folk in the paranormal running about casting out fake demons and leaving those with real ones to fend for themselves. This individual was very upset with the facts I presented.

It might be true what you’re saying, but the guy was my pal, so I don’t want the book to come out.

It’s very odd if you think about it. Everything I point out that the fake exorcist did, his name by the way is Andrew Calder, and the book’s name is Never Mock God. Yet everything this critic has publicly said: you should never film an exorcism for TV, that only Catholic priests should recite the Roman rite, has been changed because: don’t pick on my pal the fake exorcist.

The paranormal and Washington are so much alike. Don’t pick on my bum and everything will stay the same.

Bob Larson’s Been Watching WAAAAY Too Much Paranormal TV

Each time I think that Bob Larson is fading away, he comes back with a vengeance, just like in those slasher movies. No matter how much bad PR the guy gets he keeps popping back up.

For those who do not know who Bob Larson is, at one time or another, Bob’s been an evangelist, an author, a talk show host, and now an exorcist. He is someone that Andrew Calder studied closely. Here’s a link that shares all his latest actions from having a stable of teenage girls performing exorcisms to his plans to launch an online school for exorcists.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama Reflects on Working Toward Peace

Today's world requires us to accept the oneness of humanity. In the past, isolated communities could afford to think of one another as fundamentally separate. Some could even exist in total isolation. But nowadays, whatever happens in one region eventually affects many other areas. Within the context of our new interdependence, self-interest clearly lies in considering the interest of others.

Many of the world's problems and conflicts arise because we have lost sight of the basic humanity that binds us all together as a human family. We tend to forget that despite the diversity of race, religion, ideology, and so forth, people are equal in their basic wish for peace and happiness.

Nearly all of us receive our first lessons in peaceful living from our mothers, because the need for love lies at the very foundation of human existence. From the earliest stages of our growth, we are completely dependent upon our mother's care and it is very important for us that she express her love. If children do not receive proper affection, in later life they will often find it hard to love others. Peaceful living is about trusting those on whom we depend and caring for those who depend on us. Most of us receive our first experience of both these qualities as children.

I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.

Actions and events depend heavily on motivation. From my Buddhist viewpoint all things originate in the mind. If we develop a good heart, then whether the field of our occupation is science, agriculture, or politics, since the motivation is so very important, the result will be more beneficial. With proper motivation these activities can help humanity; without it they go the other way. This is why the compassionate mind is so very important for humankind. Although it is difficult to bring about the inner change that gives rise to it, it is absolutely worthwhile to try.

When you recognize that all beings are equal and like yourself in both their desire for happiness and their right to obtain it, you automatically feel empathy and closeness for them. You develop a feeling of responsibility for others: the wish to help them actively overcome their problems. True compassion is not just an emotional response but a firm commitment founded on reason. Therefore, a truly compassionate attitude towards others does not change even if they behave negatively.

I believe that we must consciously develop a greater sense of universal responsibility. We must learn to work not just for our own individual self, family, or nation, but for the benefit of all humankind. Universal responsibility is the best foundation both for our personal happiness and for world peace, the equitable use of our natural resources, and, through a concern for future generations, the proper care for the environment. . . .

A new way of thinking has become the necessary condition for responsible living and acting. If we maintain obsolete values and beliefs, a fragmented consciousness, and a self-centered spirit, we will continue to hold to outdated goals and behaviors. Such an attitude by a large number of people would block the entire transition to an interdependent yet peaceful and cooperative global society.

If we look back at the development in the twentieth century, the most devastating cause of human suffering, of deprivation of human dignity, freedom, and peace has been the culture of violence in resolving differences and conflicts. In some ways the twentieth century can be called the century of war and bloodshed. The challenge before us, therefore, is to make our new century a century of dialogue and of peaceful coexistence.

In human societies there will always be differences of views and interests. But the reality today is that we are all interdependent and have to coexist on this small planet. Therefore, the only sensible and intelligent way of resolving differences and clashes of interests, whether between individuals or nations, is through dialogue. The promotion of a culture of dialogue and nonviolence for the future of humankind is thus an important task of the international community. It is not enough for governments to endorse the principle of nonviolence or hold it high without any appropriate action to promote it.

It is also natural that we should face obstacles in pursuit of our goals. But if we remain passive, making no effort to solve the problems we meet, conflicts will arise and hindrances will grow. Transforming these obstacles into opportunities for positive growth is a challenge to our human ingenuity. To achieve this requires patience, compassion, and the use of our intelligence.

Vision of the Dark Cloud Coming

And the Lord said, “Go and pray in the harvest with Mary.” Now, it was midnight in Bangor, Maine and Mary was sound asleep, but I trudged upstairs anyways and jiggled her. Then I shook her, and finally I shouted, “Mary!” Slowly she  responded,“ Uh.”- “The Lord said we were to pray in the harvest.” With a thick tongue, Mary began, “Uh, yah. Oooh, Lord. Uh, we prraay your harvest comes. Uh Amen.”

Ok, this is not working!

Downstairs I went, curling into the corner of the sunroom. Praying and crying out for the harvest, I was soon lost in a vision: I was standing upon a huge boulder with a thick mist surrounding me, so thick I lifted my hands in front of me and I could not see them. To the right of me was a harbor with the spirit of God brooding way, way out upon the ocean. To the left of me was a patchwork map of the United States, just like how you would see it if you were looking out of the window of a plane.

As I stood there looking, a massive black cloud stretched from Washington down to the bottom of California. The black cloud rolled across the United States as a solid black wall until the United States was completely consumed by it. When it reached the east coast, and the country was covered, in an instant, the Spirit of the Lord met it with a huge bang.

The Lord spoke to me and said, “Obedience, obedience, obedience. I am not a God with a chair and a whip ruling my sheep with force. I need obedience to guard and protect you.

Blow ye the trumpet, sound the alarm in my Holy Mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the lord cometh; it is nigh at hand.

Obedience, obedience, obedience.

A day of darkness and of gloom, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, a fire devoureth before them and behind them a flame burneth:  Obedience, obedience, obedience.

They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march everyone in a row and they shall not break their ranks.

Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk everyone in his path; and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.

They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

The earth shall quake before them and the lord shall utter his voice before His army: for he is strong that executeth his word.

The Lord in his great mercy and long suffering has been calling to his sheep for a long time to come to wash in his blood. But we have been to busy; making money building our kingdom enjoying the world. Even Solomon had to stop building his kingdom and focus on the house of the Lord.

Saul was a man that was called by God but immediately took things upon himself and disobeyed God. He continued for a long time pretending he had God until the judgment time had come and there was no room to pretend anymore.

Samuel no longer heard from God so he sought other substitutes, the paranormal; a witch to bring up Samuel from the dead to tell him what to do. Saul had one up on the church today: he knew he did not hear the voice of God. The church today has substituted the voice of God for the paranormal without knowing it.

In the sixties when the Lord began to pour out mightily, Satan was right there to take that seed and twist it. The Love God wanted us to know he had for us became; free love, make love not war, be loosed from the bondage of marriage and relationship and have sex with anyone freely, as long as it feels good do it.

The loving hand of care and provision God wanted us to know we had in him became name it and claim it. Take God's word and claim your Cadillac. God was the great Santa Claus in the sky.

The healing God wanted us to know he had for us became the foundation of false prophets to build their name and wealth upon. Now after fifty years of the perversion of Gods word to us the Lord has come to bring judgment; judgment born out of love. He has not come to kill the homosexuals or the abortionist he has come to set HIS church straight. Then he judges the world.

I think of poor Jeremiah. That man suffered. He could see the coming judgment as clear as day and knew he would have to suffer along with everyone else. “Repent, please,” he was crying, “maybe God will still have mercy on us.” In the dungeon he would go. “Repent. Repent. The judgment is coming.” In the tar pit he would go. “Repent. Repent. Turn yourselves  over to the Chaldeans, and you will escape death.” Off he went as a captive. Bless his heart, no one would listen. They even went so far as to try to kill him because they thought his message would discourage the townspeople from believing their prosperity and blessing was coming.

In 1998 the Lord began to tell me of the separation that He was bringing. He said he was going to begin to make a distinction as to who belonged to the lord and who did not. Each year there would be a greater and greater chasm (divide).  Not only is the Lord showing a very clear division of morals, but He is also whittling down, going deeper and deeper into the hearts of the Christians, to make the distinction of just who really means it and who doesn’t. The Lord is causing us to be more and more responsible for our actions and our words. Just how committed to God’s ways are you? Which side of the chasm will you be on?  

Incident Report & Evaluation, Part 1

Gather around the fireplace everyone and we’ll share a tale with you, not of pirates on the high seas or of adventures in foreign lands. No, our tale is about para-celebrities [real and fake], behaving badly, in ways we’ve all come to expect but not appreciate. The story will take three weeks to share and we look forward to three weeks of denial and threats coming our way at the EYE ON THE PARANORMAL… ‘cause that’s how we roll!

Deliverance Prayer

We read throughout the Bible of the presence of Satan and his evil workings, as well as the authority and Power of God over him. We have the guarantee of our power over evil through the Holy Spirit within us. As Christians, God calls on us to provide healing prayers for our families, friends, enemies, others, and ourselves as necessary. We can pray for healing in many ways such as for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in their lives. Deliverance Ministry is all about winning souls for God, healing, and removing of the demonic accordingly. Prayer is one of the most powerful forms of devotion for spiritual healing and demonic removal. Once assured of the existence of the evil one, we can step out in faith and in the power of God’s Holy Spirit to pray for others in this area and to take authority over Satan and his demons (ghosts).

A book I would recommend that has been helpful is the Deliverance Prayers from Joy Lamb, “The Sword of the Spirit, The Word of God”. This book based on God’s Holy Scripture includes many Prayers for different situations. Here are just a few examples with some paraphrasing:

“I bind Satan, the ghosts (demons), powers, and forces of darkness. I bind all interaction, interplay or communication of spirits as it may affect any of the people and areas for which I am praying. I command in the name of Jesus Christ that all these satanic and demonic forces go to the feet of Jesus. I call forth and lose the Holy Spirit of God and the Holy Angels to come and cleanse every place where Satan has had a foothold in the lives and situations of any of these people and areas, and to fill each cleansed area with the life and love of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

“In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke and break any curses, hexes, spells, demonic activity, or any other evil thing that has been sent against me or passed down through the generations to me or to any of the people or areas for whom I am praying.”

“I renounce and ask forgiveness for any negative inner vows made by me or by any of the people for whom I am praying. I ask that Jesus Christ release us from these negative inner vows and from any bondage, they have caused us. I take the Sword of the Spirit and cut free myself and those for whom I am praying from all generational sins, weaknesses, character defects, and cellular and genetic disorders, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

“I cut all bonds of all relationships that are not of the Lord, and put His Cross between us. We are cut free and we are free indeed (John 8:36). We are now free to become the children of God the Lord intended us to be, filled to overflowing with the power of the Holy Spirit of God, and the life and love of Jesus Christ.”

God is the divine healer and I have committed Myself 100% to do his calling for me to be involved in the Deliverance Ministry. As I do my morning/evening prayers, I have seen many times over of God’s positive influence in other people’s lives. Furthermore, I have been blessed, and honored to be a part of our local Church’s prayer team. God still is doing miracles, healings, and removing the demons in our daily lives. Lastly, I would like to ask you to keep me in prayer as I am having major surgery on 11/14/12.
