The Harbinger: Prophecy or Fiction? – Wednesday, October 9, 2013

The book enjoys an almost perfect 5-star review status from over 3,000 commentators on Amazon. And the big names in Christianity are raving. “Extraordinary!” proclaims the Christian Broadcasting Network’s Pat Robertson.  Televangelist Sid Roth of “It’s Supernatural” says “It’s mind blowing!” From World Net Daily, Joseph Farah opines that the book is “stunning.”

The author, Jonathan Cahn, has been a guest on a number of Christian and conservative programs, lauded by hosts like Glenn Beck with the message of The Harbinger. Cahn’s teachings “are known for their prophetic import and their revealing of the deep mysteries of God’s word,” his biography states. He leads the Jerusalem Center / Beth Israel in Wayne, New Jersey, and Hope of the World ministries, an international evangelistic outreach.

Our 5th Anniversary Issue!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! When we first started the Eye on the Paranormal blog five years ago on this exact date we thought it would only last for a short period of time and we'd go back to our normal lives. However, five years later the Eye on the paranormal has grown into a daily blog. And the same issues that we were writing about back then, namely para-celebrities who lie to the public, still linger within the paranormal field. On our fifth anniversary, we've decided to republish the very first blog within what became a series of blogs—more than 650 of them. 

We'll continue to fight the good fight of faith over the next five years to expose the fakery within the paranormal field. Our resolve hasn’t weakened, our determination and drive is still strong. Thank you to all the readers that have made the EoTP a blog, and now a radio show, quite successful.

Eye on the Paranormal – Issue 1

Hello everyone! The Eye on the Paranormal is now open! Over the next several weeks we will be casting a critical look at the paranormal world, particularly the issues of honesty, integrity, and how the public has been manipulated into buying a lie.

When A&E’s Paranormal State premiered back in December 2007, I was both hopeful and excited that a show was going to factually portray the worlds of ghosts, paranormal activity, and demons, in a fair and accurate way. And at first, I was pleased with what I saw. But as the hoopla and hysteria began to die off a more critical look at the program and the actions of the Paranormal Research Society, along with those who have appeared on it as experts in the field of paranormal activity, demons/demonology, and psychics/mediums, things did not add up. The episodes were filled with sloppy investigative techniques, incorrect statements of how paranormal activity works, inconsistent storylines, and dubious intents.

Suddenly, anyone that began to question the validity of the A&E program began to have their character assassinated.

The second season opened with a good deal of anticipation. But it also raised even more questions, and when those questions were asked, they were met with a higher level of threats and intimidations. Soon, blogs were deleted, and the persecution continued with entire MySpace profiles being deleted.

As I watched Season 2 unfold, I finally told myself that I had to come out and state that Paranormal State is a fake.

Tammy Wilson and Tonya Hacker of The Ghost Divas! are hosts of a weekly live radio show and have 20 years of combined experience within the paranormal field. These ladies were removed from the list of speakers scheduled to appear at Univ-con this weekend. Also, their blogs stating nothing but facts were deleted from MySpace due to complaints filed by Paranormal State and PRS. This got my ire up, so I challenged both Ryan Buell and Chip Coffey to the Paranormal Moment of Truth Challenge. As you know, Fox Network has a program entitled Moment of Truth. This features a contestant being hooked up to a lie detector and as long as they answer truthfully for 21 questions, they could win up to $500,000. Here is a copy of the actual email sent to Ryan and Chip.

Dear Ryan Buell and Chip Coffey:
I have expressed concerns about how you conduct your investigations and the validity of those investigations, where anyone with a clear and discerning eye can see that they are not authentic. I have also witnessed heavy-handed tactics being used against people who question your alleged authority within the paranormal community and dared to raise questions concerning the validity of your A&E shows, Paranormal State, and Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal. I can no longer sit by in silence. That is why I came up with The Paranormal Moment of Truth Challenge, which will benefit you, your organization, the paranormal field, and a charity that would be assisted from the donation of the prize money.

1 ~ It would silence your critics if you are determined to be telling the truth about all your claims and how they are presented. There can be no one left to challenge your honesty and integrity.

2 ~ It would not only benefit your organization, but it would also help the entire paranormal field. Because if such evidence is true, it will be brought to a much wider audience, which hopefully would fuel additional legitimate investigations. So it’s a win-win situation for everyone.

3 ~ The charity of your choice would have the prize money donated to them. If the truth is being told, that prize money could reach $500,000.So, what is The Paranormal Moment of Truth Challenge? I am sure you’ve heard of the Fox Network program entitled The Moment of Truth. This is where a contestant is hooked up to a lie detector test and asked 50 questions, of which 21 of them are used on the actual show. As long as you tell the truth, you keep on winning money -- up to $500,000. The production company, Lighthearted Entertainment Inc., would jump at an opportunity of doing a show with the two of you. And I will put my personal credibility on the line and appear, as well. Ghost Hunting Certification & Paranormal Ethics – Wednesday, July 17, 2013

It’s 3 AM, you’re awakened by the noise of doors slamming, the sound of tapping on the walls, and you see hallway lights flicker off and on.  You get out of bed and find you’re the only one in the house. You try to reason what just took place and all you can come up with that is that it’s a ghost. A bit frightened, you decided that maybe it’s time to call your local ghost hunting group to come over and investigate.

Who are you letting into your home? Are they trained? Do they really know what a ghost is? Or a demon? Do they think that demons and ghosts are interchangeable? Are these ghost hunters convicted felons or child abusers? Maybe you’ve asked for the ghost hunters’ credentials and are told you have nothing to worry about. But do you?

They find something and things calm down and everything goes back to normal — for now — until one day when you’re surfing the internet and you notice photos of your home on that paranormal group’s website. You also find those photos on other related sites. Those local ghost hunters have published the findings of your case on the web! Did you give permission for them to do so? You also might discover that they’ve made money off your case, using it in a book and/or video was used to pitch a show idea. They’ve also done lectures at paranormal conferences, where the team leader was paid to give a presentation of your case, but you never gave permission for any of this. Not only were you unknowingly exploited, you weren’t compensated.

On the other side of the spectrum, maybe you want to be a ghost hunter, a paranormal investigator, or a demon chaser. You watch Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, My Ghost Story and other paranormal shows. You listen to paranormal radio, and read everything on the subject. You have a Facebook page, a Twitter page, and a YouTube account. You’ve spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, on a variety of gadgets — but does that really make you a ghost hunter?

You decide to take a class that will lead you to being a certified ghost hunter. It’s an online class and it’s the equivalent of about 10 hours of field study. To get your certification, all you need to do is read a book, take a test, and get a photo ID. After accomplishing these things, you receive a fancy looking certificate that says you’re a certified ghost hunter. Who certified the people who certify you? Can you cover the topics about the paranormal in a few hours?

We’ll look at the ethics and morality of the psychic world and break down what you need to know to keep from being a victim. This is too much for just one show, so we'll come back to this topic in upcoming episodes.

FREE Lesson in Cyclical Numerology! – Wednesday, July 3, 2013

In this broadcast of “Eye on the Paranormal,” host and Christian paranormal investigator Kirby Robinson will teach you “cyclical numerology.” “Cyclical numerology” is based on “the law of cycles.”

The Christian Bible seems to ascribe meanings to numbers, as chronicled by Mary Fairchild at About.com’s Christianity section.

But is numerology – and cyclical numerology in particular — a form of divination?

Divination, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, means “the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers” and is prohibited in the Bible.

Kirby says that cyclical numerology is not a means to predict the future, but to look at the cycles people are on, like biorhythms that were popular in the 1980s. “The numbers don’t lie,” he writes in an article on his blog concerning the Jodi Arias trial.

Communion With the Devil – Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Holy Communion is part of the process of drawing nearer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It helps us understand that when He died on the cross, He suffered physically for us, and He shed His blood for every sinner -- no matter how large or small.

Unfortunately, there is a new movement in the Seeker Sensitive church as well as the Emergent Church that has twisted this holy act and turned it into a communion with the devil. Father Gabriele Amorth Ambushed on Charisma News…with Nutjobs like these, the Devil Doesn't Need Demons

I have the utmost respect for Fr. Gabriele Amorth. I've had a chance to reread his book http://www.amazon.com/Exorcist-Tells-His-Story/dp/0898707102/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1371589769&sr=1-1 and review his teachings. I've never been disappointed by them even during the time when the existence of Lucifer is doubted-- something that's going on in the Church--he held dear to his faith.

He went public with things that were on his mind concerning the rite of exorcism. This was after the pope was alleged to have confronted a man in a wheelchair who might have had demonic issues [was he possessed, oppressed, or just had an infestation, no one but the pope knows]. Father Gabriele expresses some concerns that the church needs to train more priests to become experts in the rite of exorcism. He also wants the church to allow priests to perform an exorcism without seeking permission from church authorities.

Charisma News picked the story up and ran with it. For those who aren't familiar with Charisma News, only tea partiers and diehard anti-liberals are usually the target audience. The theological view is aligned with Falwell and Robertson. They don't say anything bad about big time preachers like Paula White and the Crouchs'.

I might have disagreements with Catholic doctrine but posting the following crosses the line.

That would be correct...
However.."followers" these people are NOT.

A follower of Christ is not a practising homosexual.
A follower of Christ does not perpetrate sex with a child.
A follower of Christ does not bow down to idols.
A follower of Christ does not put their 'faith' into anything other than Christ Crucified.
A follower of Christ calls no man his 'father', over or above his Heavenly Father.
A follower of Christ has repented of SIN.
A follower of Christ lives in Holiness before a Holy and Just GOD.

A follower of Christ acknowledges The Blood atonement of The Lamb of GOD as 'The One and Only' means by which a soul can be saved.

This 'church' and its cohorts are the greatest threat and opposition to The Gospel of Christ, equal to the Islamic movement...in its opposition of The TRUTH...found in Christ Crucified.

Jesus Christ is NOT just some obscure figure hanging on a cross.
HE is NO LONGER on The Cross.
HE came and lived among us, died for SIN, was buried and rose victorious, and now sits at the Right Hand of GOD as our mediator.
HE is our Redeemer.
HE is our Saviour.
HE is our Lord of Lords and SOON coming King of Kings.

Wake up people..prepare your hearts..your Redeemer lives, and IS returning SOON.....for a Spotless Bride....Amen.

It's sad that the poster chooses to lump every member of the Catholic Church into one pile. To use his logic, we must start questioning anyone claiming to be a Protestant due to the fact of the scandals that have swept through the Christian church. Those have included pastors cheating on their wives, pastors' wives cheating on their husbands, pastors cheating with other pastors, pastors having sex with minors, and misappropriation of church funds. Not to mention the false teachings that run rampant, as well as false teachings of well known televangelists. Why can't we just have a calm and decent conversation on doctrinal differences?
